“If it wasn’t for my lungs, I would be going everywhere,” Angela told us recently. Angela was studying to be a mental health and addictions worker when she received a diagnosis of stage four lung cancer. “I was helping a man struggling with intellectual disabilities, taking him out into the community to go bowling, that kind of thing. And working at a grocery store and just being pretty active every day, so once my lungs started to go I needed support to be able to stay active,” she said.
That’s when Angela switched to ProResp. “My first impression of ProResp was over the phone and they were absolutely amazing,” Angela said. “I knew right away that this was who I wanted. I’m a complex case but they agreed to take me on without hesitation. I explained my trouble with the tanks and the need for me to be out and about and Karen said, ‘no problem, we have exactly what you need. We will get you set up!’ Later I met my Service Delivery Representative, Mike, who is fantastic. He is an amazing man. He calls every week to check in and see that I have what I need.”
Angela’s daughter was recently married a few hours away from where she lives. She was nervous about the trip – and about having a reliable supply of oxygen to get through the big weekend. “ProResp made sure I was completely taken care of,” Angela said. “They set me up before I left with extra tanks in my car, they had a machine waiting for me at the AirBnB, and made sure there was enough liquid oxygen at the wedding to let me dance the night away. I was really able to enjoy myself because I had no anxiety about running out of air. ProResp had it all in place.”
