“If I didn’t have such caring people looking after me, my life would be miserable,” Diane told us recently. “I would never want to change from ProResp.”
In 2015, Diane was diagnosed with pulmonary hypertension, a rare condition that makes breathing difficult. A couple years in, her condition deteriorated and she was prescribed home oxygen therapy. That was when she first met ProResp.
“ProResp made a great first impression,” Diane recalled. “I love all of the staff. My old delivery driver Ken, my new one Jesse, and Amber and Jen and Tawnya are all so incredibly helpful and nice.”
Over the years, as Diane’s condition has worsened, she has had to increase her oxygen levels. She is now at a point where a portable concentrator does not always provide enough flow—she requires the support of liquid oxygen. In this, Diane is lucky to have found ProResp, one of the few home oxygen providers in Ontario who go out of their way to ensure clients requiring liquid oxygen have their needs met. For Diane, it means she still has the ability to travel.
“I’ve been down to Montreal and we’ll go Toronto to visit friends. I just call up ProResp and let them know where I am going and they make sure a liquid oxygen tank is delivered to wherever I am staying and they’ll provide me with a portable concentrator too. They cover everything. It is a great support system that takes a lot of the stress out of travelling, but they also give me independence and freedom in my day-to-day life. With ProResp’s liquid oxygen, I can still stay active. I drive to the grocery store and do the shopping. Being active is so important to maintaining my quality of life,” Diane added.
