Deborah was battling advanced leukemia and receiving palliative care at her home when she reflected on her end-of-life experience with ProResp.
“It is an interesting time,” she told us. “I am obviously a patient with fairly significant needs, but ProResp has been undaunted.”
As her disease has progressed, Deborah dealt with no shortage of health care agencies and professionals. She reached out to share her experience because, in her words, ProResp has “set the standard—the gold standard.”
“Ever since my doctor and oncologist prescribed supplemental oxygen and I was introduced to ProResp, I’ve often wished ProResp was handling everything. They are so attentive, professional and respectful. On that first visit they wouldn’t leave until they were sure I was comfortable and knowledgeable on my new equipment. When I had to go to the cancer clinic and was struggling with working my portable oxygen tank, they were at my house before we could even get out of the driveway. At the drop of a hat, they are there to make sure you have everything you need, that you’re comfortable. Their attitude is: the patient might need this, so let’s have it on hand, just in case. And that can make all the difference,” Deborah said.
As a retired educator, Deborah said she also appreciated ProResp’s strong culture of professional development. “ProResp staff are constantly given opportunities to learn, modify or improve. On more than on occasion, I have been asked if I minded having an intern accompany a home visit technician so training could be done. Egos are put aside and a supervisor doesn’t hesitate to step in and cover for a technician. Keeping skills well-honed and open to improvement is yet another strength your company has,” Deborah said.
When asked why she chose to single out ProResp for praise, Deborah said “anyone who is trying their best and being so attentive and thoughtful deserves respect and recognition. That is what I see in the ProResp team. And they deserve to be thanked.”
